Rory wins first World Cup medal

Rory Harris, who started his rowing career at Walton, won his first World Cup medal, a bronze, in the Mens’ doubles in Italy last weekend. Congratulations to him and to dad Nick. Also in the medals was Lola Anderson, who was coached by Oli Knight and Stewart Walker at Surbiton and did some of her training at Walton; she still holds half of the Round The Island record for WJ14 doubles.

The GB team for Tokyo later next month was also announced this week; Angus Groom is in the Men’s quad. Morgan Bolding and Mat Tarrant will travel with the team as reserves, while Steve Trapmore will be coaching the Men’s eight. We wish them all every success.
