The Junior Sculling Regatta at Dorney last weekend saw an exceptionally high standard of sculling and racing, particularly in all the older age-groups. The standard of entry was so high that these crews had to have an average of 200 points each just to qualify for the regatta …
The junior squad came away from the event with two golds, in J17 and J15 doubles (Harry/Max and Charlie/Archie). Very strong results too from the girls’ J16 quad, who won the B final, and the boys’ Sch/Jun ‘A’ quad who led the B final most of the way but were just pipped into third place in a very tight decision on the line. Nearly all the other Walton crews were pleased to make a final.
Walton members were also very well represented among the volunteer helpers at the event, from umpiring and commentating to timekeeping and stakeboating. Many thanks to all of them.
