Well done to everyone who competed at the Junior Sculling Head at Dorney yesterday; it rained almost continuously from late morning onwards and by the end of the day the organisers were becoming worried about hypothermia and simply fired off any crew that was available! But the competitors seemed unfazed and just got on with it …
Some very good results from the Walton crews, notably the J17 quad (Henry, Julius, Ciaran and Ben) who won bronze. A crew which had just finished tried to ram the J14 boy’s quad just as it was starting; that will have lost them several lengths but again they just got on with it and produced a very respectable result.
