Head Races Round Up March 2015

At the Head of the River Race held on the Tideway in windy conditions our junior eight, most of whom are still only 16, raced in the novice category finishing a creditable third ahead of our intermediate eight. At the Veterans Head the day before in slightly calmer conditions our masters E eight finished fifth overall in their category, slightly disappointing having previously won at Kingston and Molesey Heads. Our mixed D eight were quickest in their category but lost out on handicap.

Our junior crews raced well at the School’s Head and the Junior Sculling Head. At the Schools Head our J15 4+ came second to Westminster School in their event and our mixed quad also came second in theirs. At the Junior Sculling Head held at Dorney Lake our boys J14 4x+ performed well to come 8th out of 41 crews. The J15 boys 4X+ were also 8th, this time out of 39 crews and the girls were 35th out of 58 crews.
