Medals galore at Schools Head and Junior Sculling Head

Medals galore at Schools Head and Junior Sculling Head

A long weekend that started with the Womens’ Eights Head continued with the Schools Head on Monday and the Junior Sculling Head at Dorney on Tuesday. And the medals just kept coming! At the Schools Head Katherine, Ollie L, Alex and Tom P c Maddy came second in Mixed coxless, and Patrick, Oscar, Tom B and Ethan c Millie D second in J16 coxed fours. James, Matt, Tom J and Ben c Maddy came third in the coxed fours, and Amelia, Lola, Gabi and Millie F came 5th in WJ16 coxless quads.

The poor weather forecast for Tuesday at Dorney didn’t materialise, although it was a bit breezy in the first part of the day. James, Matt, Ollie B and Tom led off with a bronze in the J17 quads, followed by silver in J16 quads for Patrick, Aidan, Tom B and Rowan. The J15 octo (Gianluca, Noah, Christian, Seb, Kaan, Toby R, Alex and Cameron c Toby K) completed the set to take the gold by a 12-second margin. The J14 boys and girls and J17 girls also produced some good results but were disappointed to stay outside the medals.

AND we have since found that Walton won the boys’ Victor Ludorum, by a comfortable 6 points!
