Recent Walton junior Richard Hawes was selected in the 4-seat for the GB U23 eight for the World Championships in Poznan, Poland. The crew produced a dominant performance to lead from the start and take the gold medal ahead of a strong New Zealand crew, helping GB to the top of the medal table at the championships. Richard will be back at the club in the next few months to talk about his training at Oxford Brookes and his pathway to World gold.
