On one of the hottest days of the year, seven Mayors and Deputy Mayors from riparian Boroughs between Chiswick and Windsor came to Walton to discuss how they can support groups like Thames-Watch who are trying to improve the health of the river and of watersports users by testing and publicising the levels of harmful bacteria in the river. The aim is to extend this all the way up and down the river, and to link the results to causes such as sewage plant overflow, stormwater runoff and individual boat-dwellers.
Thanks to Kingston Councillor James Manthel who organised the event.
