Ivan PrattA former athlete he joined the club from Weybridge, where he had been Captain, on a free transfer in 1975 and has been unable to find his way back. Originally coached juniors and later moved on to be national junior co-ordinator and coach to several GB junior crews. A Gold Level coach he completed 25 years an umpire. He has done many jobs within the sport: ARA Divisional Representative: ARA Honorary Treasurer and ARA Chief Executive: He was Executive Secretary and Treasurer of The World Rowing Championships 1986 and holds the FISA Medal of Honour (one of a handful of Brits to do so). President of two university boat clubs and Vice President and former Honorary Secretary of Walton and Weybridge Regatta. A founding trustee of the River and Rowing Museum. Rumoured to have thought out a new format for racing with Walton Small Boats head to encourage bar sales, but strenuously denies recruiting fellow Tykes to the club to influence the choice of Yorkshire beers.A Freeman of the City of london and the Company of Watermen and Lightermen of the River Thames he spends his dotage attending their functions and indulging his passion for claret and real ale(not mixed).
